How often should I have an eye exam?
Most patients should have a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years. Your eye doctor may recommend more frequent visits based on your age, vision, or eye health.
How long does an eye exam take?
Most comprehensive eye exams take about 20 to 30 minutes.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. Scheduling ahead helps minimize wait times and allows us to provide you with the best possible care.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring your current glasses or contact lenses, insurance cards, a photo ID, and a list of any medications you take.
Will my eyes be dilated?
Dilation may be recommended to provide a more complete evaluation of your eye health. We also offer advanced retinal imaging, which allows us to examine the back of your eyes and, in many cases, reduces the need for dilation. Your doctor will discuss the best option during your visit.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We accept many vision and medical insurance plans. Contact our office to verify your coverage before your appointment.
What's the difference between vision and medical insurance?
Vision insurance typically covers routine eye exams and vision correction. Medical insurance covers the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, injuries, infections, and other medical eye conditions.
Can I use my glasses prescription to buy contact lenses?
No. Contact lenses require a separate contact lens exam and fitting to ensure they fit properly and safely.
Do you fit contact lenses?
Yes. We fit soft, toric, multifocal, rigid gas permeable (RGP), and specialty contact lenses.
Do you treat eye infections or emergencies?
Yes. We provide emergency eye care for many urgent eye conditions, including eye infections, injuries, flashes, floaters, foreign bodies, and sudden vision changes.
Do you see children?
Yes. We provide comprehensive eye exams for children and adults of all ages.
Do I need an eye exam if my vision seems fine?
Yes. Comprehensive eye exams can detect eye diseases and vision problems before symptoms appear.
Can diabetes affect my eyes?
Yes. Diabetes can damage the retina and increase the risk of vision loss. Routine diabetic eye exams are essential for protecting your vision.
What is retinal imaging?
Retinal imaging captures detailed images of the retina and optic nerve, helping detect eye diseases early and monitor changes over time.
Do you offer dry eye treatment?
Yes. We evaluate the underlying cause of dry eye disease and provide personalized treatment options to improve comfort and vision.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and most major payment methods.
